The Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) Occupational Therapy (OT) department has received a student-nominated award for clinical supervision.

The award for Organisational Excellence in Occupational Therapy Student Fieldwork Supervision from the Curtin University School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work recognises the teams’ service in supporting students.

RkPG Acting OT Manager Vikki Price was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the team.

“This is a great achievement for our teams and one that we should be very proud of,” she said.

“The nominations for this award come from the students themselves and the feedback they provide at the end of their placements. It’s great to know that students leave here with positive experiences of working with our departments and our student placement program.”

Rockingham Peel Group Executive Director Geraldine Carlton said the award recognised the contribution staff make to the professional training of students.

“Clinical placements are such an important part of preparing students to work with patients. This award reflects that our OT staff are positive role models and mentors – I congratulate them all.”
