Radio Lollipop celebrates 5 years at Rockingham

November 28, 2014

Patients, staff and volunteers are celebrating this week as Radio Lollipop marks five years of fun and laughter with children at Rockingham General Hospital (RGH).

Volunteers Meryl Reily and Jan McGlinchey have been instrumental in growing and developing the service and will receive recognition for their five years of service at a volunteer event next month.

The Radio Lollipop service was established at RGH in 2009 not long after the opening of the new Paediatric Unit, which was part of the hospital’s redevelopment.

Rockingham Peel Group A/Executive Director Kath Smith said the Radio Lollipop volunteers are an integral and valued part of the team in the Paediatric Ward.

“Jan and Meryl in particular have provided many hours of entertainment and play for paediatric patients of all ages. We are very fortunate to have them as part of the RGH team and grateful for their contribution.”
