Theatre staff at Rockingham General Hospital are upping their support for breast cancer awareness, wearing pink operating gowns during the month of October.

RGH Acting Theatre CNS Kathryn Grayson explained the theatre team have long been supporting the campaign, with an annual pink ribbon event raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

“Over the years, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, our staff have donated more than $7,000 from this event,” she said.

“In some way or another, we have all been touched by this disease. Our morning tea, combined this year with our pink protective gowns, is one way we can help promote awareness and make a difference.”

“We chose the gowns as an additional way to show our support because not only does the visual impact help raise awareness, but proceeds from the sale of each pink gown are donated to the NBCF by supplier Medline.”
