Inaugural scholarships awarded

February 6, 2015

The Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) Auxiliary and Rockingham Peel Group have selected four staff as the inaugural recipients of the Education Scholarship Fund, launched in late 2014.

The Auxiliary and health service would like to congratulate Mutasa Ashton, Adele King, Jeremy Manning and Megan Stewart.

Rockingham Peel Group Executive Director Geraldine Carlton said it is encouraging to see so many staff interested in pursuing further education and training.

“These four recipients are all completing further studies in their chosen fields. Ultimately it’s our patients who will benefit, so it’s wonderful to be able to support their skill development and knowledge in this way.

RGH Auxiliary President Joan Salter is thrilled to have the fund up and running.

“This program has been in the planning stages for some time and it is exciting to now be able to assist staff to further their training,” she said.

“We look forward to receiving the next round of applications and providing more opportunities for staff, including those in non-clinical areas.”
