Education and training opportunities enhanced at Rockingham Peel Group

July 24, 2014

Staff learning and professional development has been boosted at the Rockingham Peel Group (RkPG) with the official opening of the Education and Training Centre and announcement of an Education Scholarship Fund.

The $1.25M centre, funded by Health Workforce Australia, WA Health and the Rockingham General Hospital (RGH) Auxiliary will be an important training hub for students and staff.

RkPG Executive Director Geraldine Carlton said the dedicated facility provides a quality workspace where staff can learn.

“With hands-on training opportunities, this facility will ensure that students and staff, both corporate and clinical, can take part in lectures, simulation training and multimedia presentations using the latest technology,” she said.

Ms Carlton also announced the establishment of an Education Scholarship funded annually by the RGH Auxiliary.

“This fund, available to all RkPG staff, will provide opportunities for skill development and training in their respective fields.”

“I am very grateful to the Auxiliary for their unfailing support which along with this building will be a lasting legacy for our health service staff.”
